|Screen - Server Settings|
This is where you can control all the settings for connections to a server.
Enter the server name in Server, e.g. news.myisp.com.
The Port will usually be set to 119, this is the normal NNTP setting.
If your news provider requires you to log-in, check Authentication required and enter your username and password. Note: Most commercial news providers - giganews, newsfeeds.com etc - require a log-in. Most ISP news servers don't. If you are not sure, contact your news provider.
You can also set a Limit to the number of concurrent connections and download amount. The connection count is strictly enforced; OpNews will never attempt to connect more than the specified number of times. However, currently the download limit is not enforced. Be careful of this if your news provider charges you based on the amount that you download.
